As New Jersey residents brace for this week’s anticipated heat wave, some residents in Passaic County may be dealing with low water pressure.

Passaic Valley Water crews will begin repairs today on a series of water mains in Paterson in its efforts to maintain and improve current infrastructure. The repairs will begin around 8 a.m.

Repairs will be made to water mains in several wards that may cause low pressure and/or discolored water in the following areas:

    • First Ward (areas surrounding Northside, including Temple Street)
    • Third Ward (areas surrounding 5th Avenue and River Street)
    • Fourth Ward (areas surrounding Lafayette Street, Broadway, Madison Avenue)
    • Fifth Ward (areas surrounding Park Avenue and East 18th Street)

Repairs are anticipated to be completed in about two weeks. Customers experiencing discoloration are encouraged to run their cold taps until the water is clear.
