    Paterson Man Faces Lengthy Sentence for July Shooting That Left Two Injured

    PATERSON, NJ - A Paterson man faces a lengthy prison sentence following his arrest in connection with the July 3 shooting that left two people with non-fatal gunshot wounds.

    According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In- Charge Isa Abbassi,  Daeron L. Jones, 36, is charged with Attempted Murder, Aggravated Assault, Unlawful Possession of Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, Unlawful Possession of Weapon, and Certain Persons not to Possess a Weapon.

    As previously reported, at approximately 4:07 p.m. on the day of the incident, members of the Paterson Police Department were  dispatched to the area of Broadway and Main Street on a report of a shooting. While on scene, responding officers located a 56-year-old female victim from Clifton, and a 35-year-old male victim from Paterson. The victims were transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment. Members of the Paterson Police Department were able to locate a potential crime scene.

    The subsequent investigation revealed that Jones, who was arrested at approximately noon on Tuesday by the Paterson Police Department Warrant Squad, was responsible for the shooting.
