BAYOU L’OURSE, La. ( KLFY ) – A Patterson man has been arrested and charged with multiple car burglaries in Assumption Parish, and on active warrants from other parishes, authorities said.

Gregory Joseph Payne, 21, of Patterson is charged with 11 counts of vehicle burglary arising from an investigation in the Bayou L’Ourse area dating back to 2022.

Assumption Parish deputies identified 11 vehicles that had been burglarized in the area of Griffin Court on or about Jan. 22, 2022. Deputies located electronic evidence which led to the identification of a suspect vehicle, which was tied to other burglaries in the Gibson and Stephensville areas, officials said.

Investigators identified multiple suspects, one being Payne, and were able to place Payne in the area of the crimes at the time the offenses were committed, authorities said.
