Police lies on street to comfort his fallen horse in her last moments

The love and bond between a horse and its rider is one that’s both deep and ancient. Their connection caught that perfectly.

A faithful buddy till the end.

A traffic accident including a police officer on horseback has gripped the country after a heartbreaking photo of the aftermath went viral.

The gorgeous horse was a trusted friend.

The Houston policeman, Policeman D. Herrejon, was bucked off his horse, Charlotte after she got spooked by something behind her on the street. The horse tragically struck a cement vehicle and broke her leg.– Animal Justice League

The policeman did all he could to comfort the animal.

Officer Herrejon was seen lying next to Charlotte on the street after the accident happened. He had his arm around the horse’s neck and tried to comfort her as she took her final breath.

An image captures the officer’s broken heart and compassion.

It’s very hard to take a look at but the picture of Policeman Herrejon comforting his partner, Charlotte, touched many hearts and people throughout the world were captivated by the picture.

Houston was injuring with Officer Herrejon.

The Animal Justice League of Houston published the image on its Facebook page with a subtitle that read, “We can all place ourselves in that location where one minute it’s a beautiful and warm day and the following minute a beloved companion is gone. The truth that [Charlotte] was a police horse was a lot more gut-wrenching. She was a beautiful, loyal, and faithful partner. Our hearts went out to the officer and we felt his discomfort.”.

Policeman Herrejon was taken to the medical facility while the animal was euthanized.

The policeman was free from any kind of serious injuries however the pain of loss takes time to heal.

The Houston Police Department published a tribute to Charlotte on Facebook.

Keese Smith, a Houston Police Department spokesman, described Charlotte as a 6-year-old Tennessee Walker from Oklahoma. She belonged to the police force for four years.

” She passed her analysis period with flying colors and was working the streets of Midtown Houston within a short time of being started under saddle … She liked her job and was constantly ready to go to work placing bad guys in jail or providing nuzzles to kids.”– HPD Facebook.

The bond is strong between Mounted Patrol and their horse.

The bond is like the one among officers and their K-9 unit friend, according to Smith.

” You go through a great deal of training as a [mounted police] officer. You deal with those horses on a daily basis. Those horses undergo a lot of training prior to they’re put on the street, so there would be a bond. Those horses are those officers’ partners.”– Smith.
