PAW PAW TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Firefighters say no one was hurt in a Tuesday morning fire at a transitional housing facility in Paw Paw Township.

Crews were sent around 8:55 a.m. to the Kalamazoo Probation Enhancement Program/Red Arrow Motel on the 38000 block of Red Arrow Highway, Paw Paw Fire Chief Jim DeGroff told News 8. They found a working structure fire, which spread into the attic.

Within about 20 minutes, crews were able to get the fire under control, according to DeGroff. He said no one was hurt.

As of around 11:15 a.m., firefighters were still on scene looking for hot spots.

It’s not clear what started the fire. According to DeGroff, the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office will investigate.
