With boating under the influence a major factor in waterway incidents and deaths, local, state, and federal agencies will team up for Operation Dry Water, a national campaign to enforce laws against impaired boating. State officers, local law enforcement, and the Coast Guard will patrol the state’s waters from July 4th through the 6th to educate boaters on the dangers of boating while impaired, with increased patrols on lakes and rivers. Operating a vessel under the influence is illegal with a blood alcohol content limit of 0.08 or greater.
