Rhode Island FC to play nationally televised game Saturday on CBS

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) — Rhode Island FC (RIFC) will play on the national stage this weekend.

The club’s match at Detroit City FC on Saturday will be on CBS, which will be broadcast locally on WPRI 12.

Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.

After the United Soccer League’s (USL) multi-year rights agreement with CBS Sports last year, RIFC’s match against Detroit is just one of three regular season USL Championship matches selected for network television broadcast.

RIFC is currently on a seven-game unbeaten streak with five wins and two ties.

In its inaugural season, the team is currently 7th in the Eastern Conference with a 6-10-4 record.
