Topeka living community honors ‘Gorgeous Grandmas’
TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Tuesday was dedicated to some lovely grandmothers at one Topeka living center. Celebration Villa of Hearthstone held a Gorgeous Grandma pageant in honor of National Gorgeous Grandma Day. 11 lucky grandmothers living at Hearthstone walked the room and made their case as the best grandma to the audience, which consisted of some of their family as well.

As temperatures fall into the upper 60s tonight, the winds will remain light and from the east. Very isolated storms are possible tonight right after sunset. Heat looks to build in for tomorrow as temperatures reach into the middle 90s. This is the first time after eight days of temperatures below 90 degrees. The slow warming trend is due to a high pressure ridge slowly shifting east this week. Dewpoints will remain low for the next few days, so humidity will stay down. We can’t rule out a few more pop up showers and storms for today before we start to see drier conditions.

A local man is in jail following his arrest on Monday afternoon for possession of a stimulant and failure to appear. Brian Flanary, 45 of Manhattan, was arrested on probable cause charges just after 1:30 pm in the 5300 block of Tuttle Creek Boulevard.
