Sarahan Dust overhead for the weekend
SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - A large area of dust from the Sahara moves overhead this weekend. That could give us a hazy overcast again and could have some impact on weekend rainfall. Thunderstorms might not be as widespread as they would be without the dry dust layer overhead, but we will still see some thunderstorm activity. Fortunately, the dust will keep the tropics quiet for several days. As the dust layer dissipates during the workweek, a small disturbance in the upper atmosphere moves over Florida. That disturbance could make afternoon and evening storms more widespread during the week ahead.
