Goessel grad wrote book about great-grandfather
Braylyn Hoopes, who recently graduated from Goessel High School has accomplished more than many her age have. In addition to playing sports, participating in various activities, being a student and all that comes with it during her high school years, Hoopes wrote a book about her great-grandfather, her dad’s grandfather.
Newton sixth grader finalist in nationwide mullet contest
NEWTON, Kan. (KAKE) - A Newton six-grader is making waves not just on the sports fields, but also in a rather unexpected competition: the USA Mullet Championships. Ruger Beaman, known for his ambition on the football, soccer and baseball fields, first got the iconic American haircut three years ago when he told his mother, Kendra Fowler, he wanted to give a mullet a try.
