2 council members try to rescue city’s endangered zoning ordinance
Two Peachtree City Council Members are attempting to rectify the city government’s abuses in our property zoning system. In December 2021, then-Mayor Vanessa Fleisch and then-City Council Members Mike King and Phil Prebor surprised the citizens of Peachtree City in their last city council meeting. Council Members Kevin Madden and Terry Ernst also voted in favor of the radical change and later lost their bids for re-election.
Parade, Fireworks highlight Fourth of July Celebrations in Newnan
A day / night celebration will take place as Newnan observes Independence Day on Thursday, July 4. For starters, Main Street Newnan’s annual Independence Day Parade will roll through downtown at 9 a.m. And later in the evening, it’s the yearly Let Freedom Ring Celebration hosted by the Rotary Club of Newnan. The Fireworks Show will be held at Newnan High School’s lower field with gates opening at 5 p.m. Entry to the event will be on Armory Road.
