Neighborhood hospital proposed at NorthPointe Campus in Roscoe
The Roscoe Township Community Center will host a public hearing of the Illinois Health Facilities and Review Board (HFSRB) on August 13, 2024, 1:30 pm – 4:30 pm. The subject: Beloit Health System's plans to establish a new Neighborhood Hospital at its NorthPointe Health and Wellness Campus in Roscoe, Illinois. The cost will be approximately $20.7 million. If approved, construction is scheduled to begin in 2025, with an anticipated opening in late 2026 or early 2027. The campus currently includes immediate care, a surgery center, fitness and wellness, a birth center, and a clinic.
Beloit man accused of punching 91-year-old in the face
A 24-year-old Beloit man is accused of punching a 91-year-old man in the head following a fender bender. IceHogs Community Fund and Chicago Blackhawks Foundation to Award $135,000 in Grants to Nine Rockford Area Organizations
Last year, Rockford Hockey Club was awarded $10,000 from the IceHogs Community Fund to help reduce the cost to play at the 8U level. The grant allowed the club to add 20 new 8U players while reducing costs across the board at all levels. This year's $20,000 grant will once again help reduce costs at the 8U level with a goal of adding 20 new 8U players again this year. The additional $10,000 will fund the formation of a new Rockford Hockey Club girls program for 8U, 10U, and 12U players.
