ANDERSON COUNTY., S.C. (WSPA) – The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office said it is looking for an armed robbery suspect and are hoping the public may be able to help.

Sunday around 3 p.m. the  Anderson County Sheriff’s Office said they got a call about an armed robbery at the Shell gas station on Easley Highway in Pelzer.

“There was a young black male that went into the store wearing all black clothing and black mask and he held the cashier up at gunpoint. The cashier put about $800 in a plastic bag,” said Carrie Miller, public information officer for Anderson County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators said the suspect demanded the cashier give him $200 out of another register. Deputies believe the suspect got away with a total of $1,000.

“After that, he got in his car and left. He didn’t do anything besides take the money and run. Detectives decided that he probably went towards Highway 8 or he got on I-85 south bound,” said Miller.

The suspect is around 6 feet tall and in his mid to late 20’s. The gas station’s surveillance captured this picture of the car he was driving, a blueish gray 2007-2012 Nissan Sentra.

“Deputies and detectives got there fairly quickly and helped forensics do fingerprints. We’re just waiting to hear back on what the forensics fingerprints are, if there are any within the gas station, if they show an identity,” said Miller.

If you have any information you are asked to call the sheriff’s office at 864-260-4400 or CrimeStoppers.
