A section of the heavily traveled Kentucky 115 in southern Christian County will be closed to traffic from July 16 to 18 while a contractor “constructs a direct tie-in for the new alignment” of an industrial connector road, state highway officials said in a press release.

The closure will be from Rosedale Cemetery to Pembroke Elementary School.

Originally known as the Interstate 24 Industrial Connector, the connector will begin at Exit 89 on I-24 near Oak Grove and run along a widened Kentucky 115 toward Pembroke. From there, the connector road currently under construction will run from Kentucky 115 to the industrial parks.

The project is designed, in part, to provide better access to the industrial parks and to reduce the number of tractor-trailer rigs traveling through the town of Pembroke.

During the closure, motorists are urged to be cautious and watch for construction workers.

“Only residents who live within the limits of the closure will be allowed through the work zone with assistance from the contractor,” the release states.
