The Remsen St. Mary’s softball team ended their season in a consolation matchup at the state tournament with a loss to No. 2 Wayne by a score of 8-1 on Wednesday afternoon. The Hawks gave up a couple of big innings early on to the tune of two Wayne runs in the first and six Wayne runs in the third. Food-insecure individuals and families in Wayne County along with surrounding communities will be able to benefit from the monthly food pantry truck which is scheduled to be in town this weekend. Stanton man seriously injured following workplace fall in Pilger
PILGER - A Stanton resident was seriously hurt after falling between 25 and 30 feet at a worksite in Pilger yesterday (Wednesday) morning. The Stanton County Sheriff’s Office responded to the accident at the Pilger Co-Op around 10:40 a.m. The 52-year-old employee was trying to clean a vent at the top of the roof when he lost his balance and slid down the north edge and fell to the ground.
