After 40 years, owners put landmark Oswego bar up for sale
Oswego, N.Y. — The Sting, a popular bar that has operated for 40 years in downtown Oswego, is up for sale but will remain open until a buyer is found. The bar at 49-51 W. Bridge St. announced the sale of the property and business through social media this week. It is listed for $1.85 million through Howard Hanna Real Estate.
Syracuse TV host leaving ‘Bridge Street’ after 4 years
Syracuse television host Steve Infanti is leaving “Bridge Street Live” after four years on the daytime talk show. Infanti announced Friday that next week will be his last week on “Bridge Street Live,” though he will be staying at NewsChannel 9 (WSYR-TV) full-time. Infanti said he’ll now focus “100 percent” of his time and energy on his role as the ABC affiliate’s sports director as Syracuse football heads into its “most anticipated” season in more than 20 years.

Safe Haven Museum Represents What It Means To Be A True Democracy
NEW YORK – As war-ravaged Europe in the 1940s, there were few places Jews could seek shelter as they fled Nazi persecution. One such place was Oswego, New York, which welcomed Jewish refugees with open arms at a time when hatred and fear were far too prevalent both here and abroad. To that end, this year, the Safe Haven Holocaust Refugee Shelter Museum will be celebrating the 80th anniversary of the arrival of close to 1,000 Holocaust refugees who came to Fort Ontario looking for safety. This year’s celebration could be the last time survivors of the Holocaust will be in attendance, making it all the more significant.
Fulton Lions 34th Charby’s Duck Derby Launches Sept. 8
The Fulton Lions Club proudly presents the running of the 34th annual Charby’s Duck Derby, from noon to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, said David Guyer, club president. First prize is $2,500 sponsored by The Fulton Medicine Place. Lions met at the Robert and Sandy Weston Memorial Bench, recently, to finalize planning. Lions present were, from left: Michelle Stanard, Becky Devendorf, Ron Browning, Guyer, Brett Tallents, Patrick Devendorf, and David Wolford.
