The much-anticipated release of the College Football 25 video game came a little early for those who purchased the Deluxe Edition of MVP Bundle, with those players getting the chance to indulge on Monday.
While the official release date is Friday, those who have waited for a new College Football video game since NCAA Football 14 was released in 2013 likely had a field day on Monday, either starting their own college football career with a customizable player or restarting a dynasty with a favorite college program.
After weeks of teasers from EA Sports, including the listing of the top 100 players featured in the video game, the wait is finally over.
While Division II University of West Florida isn't featured in the game, as only Division I FBS programs are for the time being, the Pensacola area still has a handful of local alums featured in the game.
Here's a list of local players featured in the game and their ratings. Players were able to opt-in to be included in the game through newly-created NIL deals where players got $600 plus a copy of the game for either PlayStation or Xbox. Over 12,800 players accepted the offer as of May, according to Extra Points.
Players who are in EA Sports "College Football 25" might not look entirely like themselves. Face scans for individual players won't be available for this year's version of the game as it'd be too difficult to implement so many face scans in such a short period, an EA spokesperson told ESPN in February.
