Troopers with the FHP said the incident that happened on State Road 292 (North Pace Boulevard) and West Lloyd Street on July 27 at 12:48 p.m. involved two vehicles:

    • A sedan traveling west on West Lloyd Street, approaching North Pace Boulevard
    • A pickup truck traveling north in the inside lane on North Pace Boulevard, approaching West Lloyd Street

    LOCATION:

    The Crash

According to an FHP press release, the incident began when the driver of the sedan “failed to stop and remained stop at the stop sign to yield to traffic before entering the intersection.” This caused the rear left side of the sedan to collide with the front portion of the pickup.

The collision caused the pickup to rotate counter-clockwise and come to a final rest facing west in the intersection of North Pace Boulevard and W Lloyd Street, according to the release.

The driver of the pickup truck sustained serious injuries in the crash, authorities said.

The vehicle, described as a red/maroon four-door sedan, left a front and rear bumper behind at the scene. Crash reports said the bumper belonged to a Nissan Altima.

The registered address for the suspect vehicle was a foreclosed home and no one was there, according to the release.

    FHP is still investigating.
