    John Keith Curtiss, 72, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2024 at his home in Georgetown, Kentucky with his family by his side. Born on January 10, 1952, in Portsmouth, Ohio, he was a dedicated family man and a respected member of his community.

    John retired from American Electric Power (AEP) after a commendable 40-year career as a lineman. His work ethic and dedication to his role were evident to all who knew him. Beyond his professional life, John was a passionate outdoorsman. He was an avid hunter, found joy in gardening and embraced every opportunity to connect with nature.

    A proud 32nd degree Freemason, John was a member of Manchester Lodge No. 317 F. & A.M., in Manchester, Ohio and committed to the fraternity for over 50 years. His deep involvement in the Freemasons reflected his dedication to the values of brotherhood and community service.

    John is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Carolynne (Watts) Curtiss; daughters, Cathy (Steve) Reveal, Debbie (Todd) Harmon, and Joanna (Billy) Welch; grandchildren, Trey Reveal, Kaitlyn Reveal (Jeremy) Shanks, Logan (Sydney) Reveal, Adrienne Reveal (Hines) Jones, Tyler (Trisha) Harmon, Tanner Harmon, Cameryn Welch and Cassidy Welch; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Sandy Fields, Sue (Dean) McCleese and Rhonda Gail (Barry) Moore; sister-in-law Margaret Curtiss; and many special brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Dorothy (Mays) Curtiss and siblings, Judy Hall, Michael Curtiss and Patrick Curtiss.

    A celebration of John’s life will take place at Galvin’s BackRoom on Sunday, August 4, 2024. His family invites you to join them in his memory between 2 - 5 p.m. Those attending are encouraged to enter at the back door entrance.

    In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass in Cynthiana, Kentucky, an organization close to John’s heart.

    Johnson’s Funeral Home in Georgetown, Kentucky is assisting the family during this time.
