When firefighters arrived, they found the BBQ fire had spread to grass and was still growing.

Officials upgraded the fire response to a second alarm because of "multiple structures involved" and because the fire was "possibly being fed by propane."

One person was taken to the hospital for burns to their hands, according to Rural Metro Fire.

Five dogs are unaccounted for, according to Peoria Fire.

The family released the following statement regarding the devastating fire:

"We are completely devastated by the event that occurred yesterday. We appreciate the outpouring of support, love, and prayers during this most difficult time. We cannot begin to know where to start in rebuilding. Right now, we are asking for prayers and some privacy as we navigate this unimaginable tragedy."

If you would like to donate to the family, they have started a GoFundMe account .
