After a career in business, engineering, and nonprofit work helping kids stay out of college debt, my wife and I moved to the Mesquite District in Peoria. We fell in love with this community. I became involved in local government, attended nearly every city council meeting, and worked with our park director on the design of the future pickleball courts in Paloma Park. I have been highly active in the community and throughout the West Valley. My respect for others is rooted in my conservative Christian foundation and my common sense approach to problem solving is the result of 30 years in engineering.

I chose to run for Peoria City Council because I have a deep passion for serving my community and being truly engaged with my fellow citizens. Throughout my campaign I have knocked on countless doors and it has been an opportunity and privilege to listen to a wide variety of views while developing new friendships with my fellow citizens in the Mesquite District. I often hear concerns about potential development plans and I want you to know that I am listening and will always be accessible, as we work together to take a common sense approach to problems, challenges, and opportunities.

My first priority above all is keeping the citizens of our city safe, most importantly our children in school. With my long-term involvement in the community, advocacy for Peoria’s park improvements, established relationships with elected officials and city staff, and unwavering dedication to fostering a strong and safe community, I believe I will effectively represent the interests of Mesquite District residents. I have received a joint endorsement from both Peoria Police and Fire-Medical. (I invite you to read the official letter posted on my campaign home page.)

The councilmember from this district is just 1 vote out of 7. My opponents have taken a strong “No on everything” approach that is hostile to the city, often making their positions personal and not based in facts. I firmly believe we can, as the saying goes, “Catch more bees with honey than with vinegar.” So in contrast, the positive relationships I have nurtured over the years with our council, city staff, mayor, and public safety leadership, as well as the hundreds of you that I have met and heard from, will make me the most effective advocate for the Mesquite Council District of our fine city. I would be honored to answer your questions and I am humbly asking for your vote.
