College signings in central Illinois for Feb. 7, 2024

PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD/WYZZ) — Some area high school student-athletes made their college sports commitments official on the first day of the NCAA’s February signing period on Wednesday.

Three Central Catholic football players announced their college choices at a school ceremony. Colin Hayes is headed to Valparaiso, Dominic McKibbin to Drake and Jackson Metzdorf signed with Western Illinois.

Three Notre Dame soccer players signed their college letters. Elly Bare (St. Ambrose), Ellen Dahlquist (Illinois Wesleyan) and Sydnee Wharton (Missouri Valley College) will play college soccer.

Also at Notre Dame, Sami Lard signed to play volleyball at Goshen College.

At Richwoods, senior basketball standout Kamryn Heider signed her National Letter of Intent with Illinois Central College.
