The NHL has nationally been on ESPN for a few years now alongside TNT. It is a different feel than it was when NBC had exclusive national rights in the US because ESPN and TNT have very different styles. ESPN has been accused by many hardcore hockey fans to “disrespect” hockey for a long time now. It may be fair at times and other times it’s not. They didn’t help their case over the last week with a recent feature they put out.
Bears Start Training Camp With Key Rookie Unable to Practice
The Chicago Bears have placed rookie offensive lineman Kiran Amegadjie on the Non-Football Injury list. NFL insider Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 was first to report the move. The NFI list is reserved for players whose injuries or ailments did not occur in an NFL practice or during a game. Amegadjie had surgery on October 18 of 2023 to fix a partially torn quadriceps muscle in his final season at Yale. He was never expected to be ready for offseason activities, and training camp was also a question mark, although Bears head coach Matt Eberflus had previously suggested Amegadjie could be ready by now.
Sway, LGBTQ+-Owned Dispensary, Aims To Open In South Shore
SOUTH SHORE — A cannabis company owned by queer people of color plans to expand into South Shore, and officials will meet with neighbors next week to discuss the plans. Sway, which recently opened the state’s first LGBTQ+- and minority-owned dispensary, is looking to open its second shop and first on the South Side. A meeting on Sway’s plans is 6 p.m. Monday at 2226 E. 71st St., Ald. Desmon Yancy (5th) said in his newsletter earlier this week.

City of Crown Point celebrates family, community, local businesses at A Taste of Crown Point 2024 event
On the sunny evening of Friday, July 19, the City of Crown Point hosted the first day of its annual Taste of Crown Point event at Bulldog Park. Over 25 Crown Point-based food trucks and restaurants set up stalls to serve up their delicious products for attendees.
