Fort Cobb-Broxton's OU commit Eli Willits and Stillwater's OSU commit Ethan Holliday were named to USA Baseball's 18U National Team on Sunday. The two infielders will compete in the World Baseball Softball Confederation 2024 U-18 Baseball World Cup Americas Qualifier in Panama City, Panama. A talented field of eight has moved into the quarterfinals of the Women’s Oklahoma Golf Association State Amateur Championship at Stillwater Country Club. Two of the round of 16 matches were of particular note for the luck of the draw matching high-powered opponents fairly early in the contest. In one, defending champion Sydney Hermann of Ponca City edged low qualifier Reagan Chaney of Ardmore 1 up. In the other, two-time defending WOGA Girls Junior Champion Megan Blonien of Altus downed the winner of that event from three years ago, Jenni Roller of Tulsa, 5 and 3. Blonien was steady throughout while Roller was fighting a hook and made numerous early bogeys to fall behind.
