Perryton woman dead after rollover wreck in Ochiltree County

OCHILTREE COUNTY, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Texas Department of Public Safety reports that one person was killed in a rollover wreck Sunday evening in Ochiltree County.

According to DPS, a Chevrolet Silverado driven by 40-year-old Kacy Courson of Perryton was heading northbound on FM 2711 when, for an unknown reason, Courson veered off the east side of the roadway and overcorrected the steering. Officials stated that Courson then re-entered the roadway, traveled across both lanes, and into an empty field where it entered a side skid and rolled over.

DPS officials noted that Courson was pronounced deceased at the scene of the wreck and she was not wearing a seatbelt.

The Texas Department of Public Safety said the crash is under investigation.
