    2024 All-County Boys' Track and Field

    Athlete of the Year

    Blake Stevens, Perryville, Jumps

    The Perryville senior did it all for the Panthers with his main events in the jumps, while filling in when needed in the short sprints. Won a pair of individual Cecil County titles in the high jump and triple jump, while serving as a member of Perryville’s 4x100-meter relay team that won a county title. In the jumps, Stevens added first place finishes in long jump and triple jump at the Susquehanna Division Championships, plus an UCBAC title in the triple jump. Qualified for the 1A State Championships in three events, which included a sixth place finish in Class 1A in the triple jump. Finished the spring with county-best heights of 6’ 2” in the high jump and 43’ 6 1/2” in the triple jump.

    Coach of the Year

    Travon Morgan, Perryville

    Led the Panthers to a boys’ county title with 110 points at the Cecil County Championships. Added multiple top three finishes as a team in championship meets. Led the Panthers to second place finishes at the Susquehanna Division Championships, the UCBAC Championships and the 1A East Region Championships with respective scores of 119 points, 74 points and 94.5 points.

    Sean Beard, Perryville, Sprints

    Finished his senior year with two individual Cecil County titles in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes and two relay titles in the 4x100 and 4x200-meter relays. Alongside his county titles, Beard finished the year with six top finishes in the 100 and 200 during championship meets. Was a 1A state qualifier in both the 100 and 200 dashes. Served as a member of Perryville’s 4x100 teams that finished second overall at the Susquehanna Division Championships and UCBAC Championships. Finished the spring with a county-best time of 22.79 in the 200 dash.

    Solomon Pope, Elkton, Sprints

    Saw his times in the short sprints steadily drop throughout his senior spring. Pope saved off seven tenths of a second from his first registered 100 time to his season-best time at the 2A East Region Championships. Pope qualified for the 2A State Championships in the 100 meters with a sixth place finish at regionals. Added sixth place finishes in the 100 and 200 at the Cecil County Championships. Ended the season with a county-best time of 11.22 in the 100 dash.

    Owen Kilduff, Perryville, Sprints

    A multi-faceted sprinter with the ability to compete across 100, 200 and 400 meters. Served as a member of Perryville’s 4x100, 4x200 and 4x400 relay teams that won Cecil County titles. Finished second overall in the 400 at the Susquehanna Division Championships, along with fourth place finishes at the UCBAC Championships and 1A East Region Championships. Qualified for the 1A State Championships in the 400 and finished the season with an eighth place finish in Class 1A. Ended the year with a county-best time of 51.21 across 400 meters.

    Saheed Council, Bohemia Manor, Sprints

    Showcased his versatility as a sprinter, while dabbling in the 800 meters towards the end of the season. Won an individual Cecil County title in the 400 meters, while finishing as the runner-up in the 100 and 200. By the end of the season, served as a leg on Bohemia Manor’s 4x800-meter relay team that won a 1A East Region title, qualified for the 1A State Championships and placed third overall in Class 1A with a school-record time of 8:15.26.

    Travis Bare, Rising Sun, Hurdles

    Won a pair of Cecil County titles in the 110-meter and 300-meter hurdles at the Cecil County Championships. Finished second overall in the 110 hurdles at the UCBAC Championships and qualified for the 2A State Championships in both the 110 and 300 hurdles. Placed in the top 10 at the state meet in both hurdle events. Ended the spring with a county-best time of 15.61 in the 110 hurdles.

    Dain Lenz, Bohemia Manor, Hurdles

    Finished in the top 10 of both the 110 and 300 hurdles at multiple championship meets, including second place finishes in both hurdle events at the Cecil County Championships, plus second place finishes in the 300 hurdles at the Susquehanna Division Championships, UCBAC Championships and 1A East Region Championships. Set a county-best time in the 300 hurdles at the 1A State Championships with a fifth place result of 40.39.

    Matthew McKay, Rising Sun, Senior, Distance

    Peaked during championship season in the 800-meter run with multiple top 10 finishes in championship meets, while shaving almost nine seconds off his first time of the spring season. Won the Cecil County Championships across 800 meters and placed in the top three at the UCBAC Championships. Broke the two-minute mark at the 2A East Region Championships with a third place finish of 1:59.94 and shaved another half second off his time at the state meet. Placed seventh overall across 800 meters in Class 2A. His state meet time of 1:59.55 was .14 seconds off the school record and served as a county-best performance.

    Kenai Black, Bohemia Manor, Distance

    Continued to emerge as one of the top distance runners in the county. Won a Cecil County Championship and Susquehanna Division Championship in the 3200-meter run, while placing in the top five of the 3200 at the UCBAC Championships. Finished second overall across 1600 and 3200 meters at the 1A East Region Championships. Qualified for the 1A State Championships in both events. Held county-best times of 4:40.66 in the 1600 and 10:12.41 in the 3200.

    Jacob Blankenship, North East, Throws

    Concluded his senior year with three shot put wins at championship meets, including the Cecil County Championships, Susquehanna Division Championships and UCBAC Championships. Finished as the runner-up in shot put at the 2A East Region Championships. Added a handful of top five finishes at championship meets in discus, including wins at the Susquehanna Division Championships and the 2A East Region Championships. Qualified for the 2A State Championships in both throwing events. Ended the spring with a county-best mark of 44’ 4” in shot put.

    Thomas Kilby, Perryville, Throws

    A consistent placer in discus throughout the spring season. Placed in the top five of all five championship meets with a season-best throw of 149’ 5” coming at the 1A State Championships. Kilby’s discus throw at states served as the county-best mark. Finished runner-up in discus at the Susquehanna Division Championships and UCBAC Championships. Added fourth place finishes at regionals and the state meet.

    Patrick Smith, North East, Throws

    Concluded his senior year at North East with a Cecil County and UCBAC title in the boys’ discus with respective marks of 125’ 11” and 141”. Added a pair of top three finishes in discus at the Susquehanna Division Championships and 2A East Region Championships. Placed sixth overall in the shot put at the 2A State Championships.

    Garrett Rees, Rising Sun, Throws

    Qualified for the 2A State Championships in discus this past spring. Finished the season with a third place finish and a throw of 147’ 10”. Added top five finishes in championship meets, including second place results in shot put and discus at the Chesapeake Division Championships, a third place finish in discus at the Cecil County Championships and a fourth place finish in discus at the 2A East Region Championships.

    Mekhi Lockhart, Elkton, Jumps

    A versatile athlete in the jumps throughout the spring. Lockhart won a Cecil County title in the long jump, while placing second overall in the triple jump. Added top five finishes in championship meets, including a third place finish in the long jump at UCBAC’s and third place result in triple jump at the Chesapeake Division Championships. Qualified for the 2A State Championships in the triple jump and placed seventh overall in Class 2A. Held the county-best mark in long jump of 20’ 10”.

    Dylan Zahn, Rising Sun, Pole Vault

    Won Cecil County title in pole vault with a height of 10’ 2”. Added two top five finishes at the Chesapeake Division Championships and UCBAC Championships. At the 2A East Region Championships, Zahn placed sixth overall, qualified for the state meet and set the county-best height of 10’ 9”.
