No major injuries in Sunday motorcycle accident
WHATELY, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Sunday afternoon a motorcycle and a car were in an accident at the intersection of Christian Lane and Route 5 in Whately. The Whately Fire Department reported no major injuries as a result of the accident; and a reminder to watch out for motorcycles, especially at busy intersections.
Institute of Diversity Sciences Announces 2024-25 Faculty and Student Sloan Fellows
Researchers in computer science and engineering at UMass Amherst and UMass Boston have teamed up to help diversify STEM culture across the UMass system with help from a $499,972 grant from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. The team, called the Sloan Fellows Program, is led by the Institute of Diversity Sciences (IDS) at UMass Amherst and recently selected its second cohort of 12 faculty mentors and 18 undergraduate students.
Massachusetts Hires Diehl As Director Of Hockey Operations
AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts hockey has hired Hunter Diehl as its director of hockey operations, contingent upon the successful completion of a background check, head coach Greg Carvel announced on Monday. Diehl comes to UMass from the Colorado Eagles where he was the video coach and team services contact for the Colorado Avalanche AHL affiliate from 2023 to 2024.
