PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Ivey Weller went 2-for-3 at the plate, drove in a pair of runs and gave up one earned run in 1 and one-third innings on the mound Monday to help the Great Barrington 10-year-old Little League All-Stars edge Dalton-Hinsdale, 8-7, in the opening game of the Don Gleason District 1 Tournament.
State awards Construct with $3.1 million grant for Cassilis Farm
Great Barrington — Construct Inc., the leading nonprofit provider of affordable housing and support services in the Southern Berkshires, has been awarded a $3.1 million grant from the Healey-Driscoll administration’s 2024 Affordable Housing Development program. The state funds will help construct and subsidize 11 units at Cassilis Farm, a Gilded Age estate in New Marlborough, making them affordable to families and workers at or below 60 percent of the area median income (AMI).

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — A North Street housing project was awarded more than $4 million through the state's Housing Development Incentive Program. Mayor Peter Marchetti and Community Development Director Justine Dodds traveled to Lowell on Tuesday for the announcement of $27 million in HDIP awards — $4,099,686 going to Allegrone Construction Co.'s redevelopment of the historic Wright Building and the Jim's House of Shoes property.
Pittsfield Teen Charged with Armed Assault Following North Street Shooting
An 18-year-old Pittsfield man has been arrested and charged in connection with a shooting that occurred on the corner of North and Bradford street last month, authorities said. On June 14, 2024, just after 5 p.m., Pittsfield Police Department officers responded to reports of gunfire and discovered two men with gunshot wounds. The victims were quickly transported to Berkshire Medical Center, treated for their injuries, and released, according to a police department statement.
