Town of Peshtigo man faces child pornography charges

MARINETTE — Marinette County District Attorney DeShea Morrow announced that a Town of Peshtigo man was charged with multiple counts of Possession of Child Pornography after a search warrant was served at his residence on June 18.

According to the Criminal Complaint issued by the Marinette County District Attorney’s Office, on April 30, 2024, the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office received information from the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office that suspected Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) was downloaded to an identified IP address. Further investigation showed that this IP address was associated with a specific residence occupied by Brett Mandli, 42, located in the Town of Peshtigo.

The Marinette County Sheriff’s Office obtained a search warrant for the residence and for electronic devices found in the residence. The search warrant was executed on June 18 and multiple electronic devices were seized. An analyst with the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation confirmed the presence of images of child pornography on a device belonging to Mandli.

Mandli was at the residence at the time of the search warrant and was taken into custody without incident. He appeared before Circuit Judge James A. Morrison on Tuesday for a bail hearing. District Attorney Morrow requested a $10,000 cash bond with various conditions including no contact with minors. The court ordered a $10,000 cash bond with conditions including no contact with minors.

The charges against Mandli are merely allegations, and he is presumed innocent of all charges until and unless proven guilty, Morrow said in a press release.

The Marinette County Sheriff’s Office investigated this matter with the assistance of the Marinette Police Department, the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office, the Wisconsin Department of Justice, the Marinette County District Attorney’s Office and the Marinette County Department of Health of Human Services.

Mandli will appear in court July 15 for an adjourned initial appearance.
