THREE VERY SPECIAL DOGS IN NEED!!! Wet Noses needs donations for three dogs with medical issues. Two of the dogs, Pilot and Nugget, have been referred to the Univ of Tenn Vet school for further evaluation and treatment. Pilot had his first appointment yesterday. You may remember him as a parvo puppy that had complications and ended up with aspiration pneumonia. During this time, he began regurgitating his food when he ate. In order for the food to move down into the stomach, Pilot eats standing on his two back legs. The team at Univ of Tenn performed an Esophagram and found a stricture encircling his esophagus and making it hard for food to pass into the stomach. The doctor recommended a balloon dilation to expand the affected area of the esophagus enabling food to pass more easily. She wanted to do it next week but we need your help to make that happen. With this procedure, we are hoping Pilot can then be adopted. The estimate for the procedure is $3500-$4500. Nugget Nugget came to us after being hit by a car. He was on crate rest, then limited activity to see if his injuries could heal with some time. His pelvis was broken in two different places. Unfortunately, It has not healed the way it should and he needs surgery to fix it. The first appointment is for diagnostics and to get an idea of how much the surgery will cost. They estimate the first appointment, which is on 4/19, to cost between $850–$1500. Mac Mac is a special boy with lots of great qualities. He is gentle, loving and wants to please. He should have been adopted as a puppy but no one chose him. Mac has now been with us for over 500 days. Sometimes being in a rescue can put a lot of stress and anxiety on a dog that might not normally be anxious. It can cause them to do things or, in some cases, to eat things they shouldn’t. Mac loves to destroy towels and it has gotten him in trouble a second time for swallowing pieces of the cloth. Mac had surgery last week for a foreign body which turned out to be a strip of towel. The vets removed the cloth and 29 inches of his intestines. We love him and don’t want this to happen a third time. He needs a person to focus on, take care of and love. His new person is out there! So, if that’s you, please come meet him. The bill for Mac’s surgery and hospital stay is $3027. We thought it was covered with an unexpected donation check we received but the check was a fake. Yes, this really did happen! Any donations are appreciated! These guys are so special and they need our help. PLEASE DONATE, if you can. If not, PLEASE SHARE far and wide so we can raise the necessary funds for Mac’s bill as well as Pilot's and Nugget’s visits to Univ of Tenn.
