A rash of tire thefts have been hitting parts of Sonoma County this week, according to law enforcement.

On Sunday, Petaluma police began receiving reports from people who discovered that their tires and rims were removed from their vehicles near apartment complexes on the east side of town. By Monday, at least 10 reports had come in.

The Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety is also advising its community about similar thefts between Sunday and Wednesday.

According to police, victims reported that their vehicles were propped up on concrete landscape blocks and the tires were stolen.

Currently, 2014 to 2024 Toyota Camrys and Corollas have been targeted, as well as 2020 to 2024 Honda Civics and Accords, Rohnert Park officials said.

Both agencies encourage the community to report in-progress suspicious activity to 911.

Anyone who may have any information helpful to this case should please call the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety at (707) 584-2600 or Petaluma police at (707) 778-4372.

Vehicle owners can protect their property by investing in lug nut locks that can prevent tire theft, police said.
