Pizza Palooza preview pleases palates
The showroom at Grogan’s Towne Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram featured some unusual models Tuesday. Instead of being packed with Pacificas, jammed with Rams, chock-full of Challengers, or crammed with Compasses, it was filled with tasty pizzas from a dozen local eateries, all of which will be competing in the upcoming 12th annual Pizza Palooza for the coveted Judge’s Choice and People’s Choice awards. The event will be held on Friday and Saturday at Centennial Terrace in Sylvania. Doors open at 5 p.m. “This is a great week for Sylvania,” Mayor Craig Stough declared. “We have the Dana Open at Highland Meadows and Pizza Palooza going on at the same time. Artist invasion creates interest, buzz

TECUMSEH — This weekend offers new opportunities to hear a song written for Tecumseh's bicentennial. "Through All These Years," written by Phil Devaney, had its premiere May 5 with the Tecumseh Pops Orchestra and Community Chorus. The chorus will perform it again at the "WTCA Radio Show" Sunday, July 21. There are two shows, at 3 and 7 p.m., at the Tecumseh Center for the Arts, 400 N. Red Bird Hosts the 2nd Annual Sylvania Plein Air Festival
Red Bird Sylvania is thrilled to announce the 2nd annual Sylvania Plein Air Festival presented by The Art Supply Depo. On the morning of July 28th ,125 regional and national artists will arrive in Sylvania and begin to paint in and around downtown. 13 locations have been commissioned as purchased prizes. A printable map with these locations can be found on our website at https://redbirdsylvania.org/plein-air-locations/ . Other scenic locations that artists may choose to paint are Toledo Memorial Park, Harroun Park, the Lourdes Campus and Olander Park. Artists will be actively painting through Wednesday (7/31) afternoon. A competitive quick draw competition will be offered to registered Plein Air artists on Thursday(8/01) 10am-12pm, on Main St. The artists and the public will then be able to vote on their favorite and a cash prize will be awarded to the winner.
