    Male victim dies in hit and run on County Drive in Petersburg, police searching for suspect

    PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) — The Petersburg Bureau of Police is investigating a hit-and-run incident that resulted in a death.

    At 9:10 p.m. on Sunday, June 30, officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of County Drive for a report of a pedestrian being hit by a car.

    When officers arrived on the scene, they found a Hispanic male victim who had been hit by a car.

    According to police, the victim has not yet been identified but was taken to the hospital where he died from injuries.

    The police are seeking the public’s assistance in finding the suspect and the car that left the scene.

    The suspect’s car is described as a silver or grey Lincoln that has heavy front-end damage. Police said the car was last seen driving west on County Drive towards Prince George County.
