Last Month’s Flood Having Lasting Impacts On Spencer’s Downtown Area
Spencer – Officials with Grand Avenue Community Outreach, in the former Tangney Hotel building in downtown Spencer, have announced their permanent closure. In a post on their Facebook page, the non-profit group says the losses they incurred in the 100-year-old building have been tremendous, saying the repairs and ongoing maintenance required for such an old structure are more than what the organization can bear. They add that for the health and safety of their tenants and guests, the building is now inaccessible.
One dead and another seriously injured in Union County crash
Union County, S.D. (KFGO) – One man died and another was injured in a two vehicle crash on Interstate 29 in North Sioux City, SD, just before 2 on Friday afternoon. Preliminary crash information indicates the driver of the first car was traveling northbound on Interstate 29, slowed by congested traffic entering a construction zone. The driver of a second car, traveling the same direction at highway speeds, collided with the rear of the first, causing it to enter the median and roll over. The second car went across the southbound lane and collided with a fence in the west ditch where it came to rest.
