Farmers Bank Free Stage at CCF
Spencer, IA (KICD) — The Farmers Bank Free Stage will be featuring six different acts at this year’s Clay County Fair. Fair Manager Jerome Hertel says the goal is to find entertainment suited for everyone. Entertainers appearing September 7th-9th on the stage include comedian Brad Weston and award winning vocalist Kate Voss and the Hot Sauce. On stage September 10th-12th will be husband and wife country-gospel duo The Floras and polka group The Marv Nissel Band. Finally appearing September 13th-15th will be acoustic string band Uncle Muskrat; and a thrilling dueling string act The String Showdown.
City of Storm Lake Makes Mandatory Water Conservation Adjustments
The City of Storm Lake has made adjustments to its Mandatory Water Conservation measures. The adjustments are due to the failure of one of the City’s water wells, which has temporarily impacted the water supply. While efforts are being made to repair that well, another well that had been retired will be temporarily returned to service. A new City well in Frank Starr Park is scheduled to go into service later this year.
Multiple Thunderstorms Blanketed the Raccoon Valley Radio Area Tuesday Morning
Multiple rounds of thunderstorms pelted the Raccoon Valley Radio area overnight and Tuesday morning. The first set of severe thunderstorm warnings were issued by the National Weather Service just after 1am until 3am for most of Greene, Guthrie and Dallas Counties. Guthrie County Sheriff Marty Arganbright reported strong winds and small tree branches were down, along with outdoor furniture was blown around in Guthrie Center, but no property damage or injuries were reported. Greene County Sheriff Jack Williams said there was 60 miles per hour winds and heavy rainfall across the county during the four severe thunderstorm warnings.
