One dead, one seriously injured in Gaylord stabbing incident

GAYLORD — One man died on Saturday following a stabbing altercation at a business in Gaylord.

According to a press release from the Gaylord Police Department , officers responded to the incident at approximately 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17 at Sun Frog Solutions on O’Rourke Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers found two men suffering from severe lacerations and puncture wounds that had been caused by edged weapons.

Otsego County EMS transported both men to Munson Otsego Memorial Hospital for treatment. One of them, a 33-year-old man, died from his injuries. The other, a 35-year-old man, underwent emergency surgery for serious injuries.

According to the Gaylord Police Department, both men were temporary workers from Jamaica working at Sun Frog Solutions. The business, located at 1782 O'Rourke Boulevard, offers branded printed products, clothing and accessories.

The incident remains under investigation.

The Gaylord Police Department was assisted by the Michigan State Police, Otsego County Sheriff’s Department, DNR Law Enforcement Division and Otsego County EMS.
