Two area residents were injured in a Pettis County crash involving a tractor on Highway 65 on Friday, July 19.

A report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash occurred when a vehicle driven by 59-year-old William Anderson tried to overtake a slow-moving tractor driven by 36-year-old Phillip Staus. Anderson’s vehicle struck the rear of the tractor, causing it to travel off the roadway and overturn.

Both drivers sustained moderate injuries in the crash and were transported to Bothwell Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The accident occurred at 4:47 p.m. on southbound Highway 65, just south of Mather Road in Pettis County.
