They opened up the World Series with a 8-5 win over Livingston on July 18. Cole Cleveland led Troy at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run, while Elliot Cochran went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Barrett Powell and Cochran pitched two innings each. Cochran struck out two and gave up two hits and two earned runs, while Powell struck out three and gave up no hits or earned runs.

Coming off a season in 2023 when the Tigers finished 24th nationally in rushing offense but averaged just 26.2 points per game (72nd in the country), coach Hugh Freeze has talked about the need to create more explosive plays in the passing game and get more production from quarterback Payton Thorne, but in the end everything this season will revolve around Auburn's ability to run the football.
