Joel Embiid battled injuries in the first round of the playoffs last season en route to a disappointing loss to the New York Knicks and their hulking center Isaiah Hartenstein, who is now with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Embiid is still just 30 years old , but the 76ers' superstar center and former MVP seemed to realize last season that his championship window seemed as if it was on the verge of beginning to close a little bit in Philadelphia.

Now with Team USA and chasing a gold medal, Embiid revealed that he has been at his breaking point lately.

He shared his thoughts on frustrations with the 76ers during and after last season as well as what it will take to improve his legacy before he retires.

According to Embiid, it's championship or bust now that Paul George is in the picture.

He said as much in quotes shared by the Philly Voice publication on Saturday.

"I'd lying to say that patience wasn't tested," Embiid said according to ESPN reporter Tim Bontemps amid Team USA's training camp and a flurry of Sixers roster changes including the addition of wing Paul George.

"Because I'm at the point where there's no awards, there's no regular season or no All-NBA or All-Stars is going to change the way my legacy is," the Yaoundé, Cameroon born NBA superstar said.

"Well, there's a few things that can change it, but the main one is the championship. So when you start thinking about what you want to be remembered as, you want to be remembered as someone that's won," Embiid added, a testament to his more focused vision for the 76ers now that George, Caleb Martin and others are in town.
