It has only been six games, but Trea Turner's slow start is starting to raise the eye brows of some folks, including Joe DeCamara.

"The defensive issues coupled with the offensive struggles, granted it's early, coupled with nine years to go on his contract and like 260 million dollars still owed to him," DeCamara said on Thursday's 94WIP Morning Show. "Like am I concerned big picture on Trea Turner? Yeah, I got to be."

After the 2024 season, Turner has nine-years and $245 million remaining on his 11-year, $300 million deal he signed with the Phillies on December 8th, 2022.

The two-time All-Star shortstop, who turns 31 in June, is just 5-23 with no home runs, two RBIs, three walks, eight strikeouts and two errors in the first six games of the season.

It is extremely early, with still 156 games to go. So to be fair, this could be all be moot if Turner turns things around soon.

"I am not concerned for the long haul," said Jon Ritchie. "I am concerned he's not starting fast. I am concerned he needs to be better in a hurry."
