NBA Rumors: LeBron James to Philadelphia speculation heats up

LeBron James, Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and Bronny James all with the Philadelphia 76ers in 2024-25. Could it actually happen?

The Sixers are projected to have around $60 million in cap space this offseason, which is among the league leaders, an necessity for any team wanting to land James.

In the 2024 NBA Draft, Philadelphia currently has their own first-round pick and a second-round pick as well, from either Chicago or New Orleans. The Sixers also have two firsts in 2026, 2028, and 2029.

James, who reportedly wants to play with his son before retiring and has a player option for 2024-25 with the Los Angeles Lakers, tweeted about his future on Tuesday night.

Bronny James, who will turn 20 in October, is projected to be an early second-round pick out of USC as it stands currently.

The Lakers have already admitted to being open to drafting Bronny in this year's draft.

"I would take Bronny and hold him hostage," Spike Eskin said on Tuesday's 94WIP Afternoon Show.

"I would too," Ike Reese agreed. "To your point, it's going to get something out of the Lakers."

Daryl Morey and the Sixers reportedly inquired about trading for LeBron James before this year's deadline as well.
