Joe Giglio has an idea: Experiment with Trea Turner in the outfielder during a rehab stint in the minor leagues in hopes of keeping Edmundo Sosa at shortstop.

"Trea Turner should put an outfield glove on and see what he can do in the outfield," Giglio said on Tuesday's 94WIP Midday Show. "I just keep thinking about what the Phillies lack and that's an outfielder that can hit. We know Trea can hit and right now Sosa is too good to take out of the lineup. He has hit incredibly well, he's a better defensive player, and I think about what the best version of the Phillies team is...You can put him in center instead of Rojas or you can put him in left and move things around."

Giglio points out that Turner did play some outfield early in his career with the Washington Nationals.

Turner, who recently suffered a minor setback, has been out since May 3rd with a hamstring injury. He is expected to miss around six weeks, setting up a potential return around mid-June.

In the meantime, Sosa has been filling in excellently for Turner at shortstop, hitting .352 with four doubles, four triples, and two home runs since the injury.

Over his last 19 starts, Sosa is slashing .317/.397/.617 with a 1.014 OPS and for the season the season he is now slashing .316/.395/.605 with a 1.001 OPS in 87 plate appearances over 27 games and 25 starts.
