Hugh: Jalen Hurts needs to suck it up if he has problem with Nick Sirianni

The Jalen Hurts/Nick Sirianni dynamic continued to be the discussion on Wednesday, and Hugh Douglas says if the Eagles quarterback has any kind of issue with his head coach, then he better suck it up and figure it out.

“That’s not Jalen’s call. I understand he’s the face of the franchise…but at the end of the day, management has to make decisions that they feel are for the betterment of the team,” Hugh said. “If Jalen isn’t in lockstep with that, then guess what? He needs to get in lockstep with it, because at the end of the day, if Jalen is not in lockstep, guess who is not gonna be here if he’s out there beefing with the head coach? Him!”

Whether Sirianni is the right man for the job is not the question. The front office is sticking with him as the head coach, so Hugh says Hurts needs to get in line with the philosophy of the franchise, regardless of how he feels about Sirianni.

“This is not good for the team. This is not good for Jalen Hurts as a quarterback,” Hugh said. “The one thing you don’t want to be in your young career is to be considered a malcontent. Not saying he’s there yet…but Jalen needs to make this relationship work for the betterment of us trying to get to the Super Bowl.”
