Philadelphia Eagles' new defensive coordinator Vic Fangio isn't in town to make friends.

According to Eagles' veteran cornerback Darius Slay, Fangio is all business and no bulls---.

And Slay is a big fan.

"I think he's doing a great job," Slay said on The Green Light podcast with ex-Eagles star defensive end Chris Long. "He's quiet though. He's a guy where you gotta go into his office. He's very detailed. He tells you for every position what needs to be done, how to do it, and goes about his day. And he seems like the kind of coach like "If you don't do what I need you to do, I don't care how much you get paid, I'm benching you."

Fangio, a defensive guru has been around the league since 1984 and over the years, Fangio has coached 10 top-ranked defenses.

He faces a tall task in Philly, but there's no doubt that he can flip things around.

The Eagles secondary ranked amongst the worst last year, finishing 30th in both points allowed per game (25.2) and 31st in passing yards allowed to wide receivers (3,125).

Slay contributed more to the good than the bad of those numbers last season, leading defensive backs with 57 total tackles, 15 passes defended, two interceptions, and one touchdown, while earning his his third-straight Pro Bowl nod.

As several players have already admitted, Slay also said the lack of communication was a massive reason behind last year's downfall, but that has not been an issue with Fangio at all.

Between Fangio's old-school and direct ways of teaching, along with the Eagles' new additions to their secondary, they should get right back on track to their Super Bowl-contending ways in 2024.
