Philadelphia police make 2nd arrest in connection with Strawberry Mansion shooting that injured seven

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A second suspect has been arrested in connection with a mass shooting in the city’s Strawberry Mansion neighborhood last month that injured seven people.

Khalif Duren of Hunting Park has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and several other related offenses for the June 19 shooting along North Bambrey Street near West Somerset Street. According to police, the 23-year-old turned himself in on Wednesday at Philadelphia Police Department headquarters on North Broad Street.

Authorities had already charged 23-year-old Tyheed Harvey of East Germantown with similar offenses just days after the shooting. Police arrested Harvey on Friday, June 21, as he attempted to enter a vehicle under police surveillance that had been caught on camera at the scene of the shooting.

Police say seven people were shot on June 19 at 6:21 p.m. near 2800 North Bambrey Street when three men jumped out of that car and fired about 17 shots. The injured range in age from 16 to 46 years old. All were treated at Temple University Hospital and listed in stable condition, except for a 19-year-old man, who had been shot in the back and was in critical condition.

Police are still looking for a third suspect.
