Philadelphia Eagles TE Dallas Goedert Earns Huge Comparison

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Geodert has been one of the most productive players in the NFL over the last few seasons at his position. He has operated as a key weapon in the team’s passing game being one of the top targets.

Given how the offseason went and what the depth chart looks like, Dallas Goedert is in for a big season once again. Beyond A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, the Philadelphia Eagles don’t have much in the way of established, reliable pass-catching talent.

With Kellen Moore taking over the offense, Dallas Goedert can expect to produce once again. Dalton Schultz was very successful during his tenure with Moore calling plays on the Dallas Cowboys. Last season with the Los Angeles Chargers, it was more of the same with Gerald Everett and Donald Parham.

Heading into the 2024 regular season, NFL personnel are high on Dallas Goedert. Over at ESPN , Jeremy Fowler put together rankings for each position in the league based on votes from executives, coaches and scouts.

For the tight end rankings, the Philadelphia Eagles tight end came in at No. 7. He was as high as No. 4 on the list, but some evaluators didn’t have him in the top 10.

But, it was a comment from a high-ranking official that caught people’s attention.

“[He’s] one of the few that can block at a high level and still receive,” a high-ranking NFL official said . “He’s a lot like [George] Kittle in that way.”

Being compared to the San Francisco 49ers star tight end is a major compliment for Dallas Goedert. Kittle is in the conversation as the best tight end in the NFL, coming in at No. 2 on the list.

Some voters did have Kittle at No. 1, a distinction he has earned with his production. He gets the job done in every facet for head coach Kyle Shanahan, whether it is as a playmaker or run blocker.

That is a similar impact that Dallas Goedert has for the Philadelphia Eagles. He is an every down player, willing to do the dirty work to help the team win games when he isn’t catching passes.
