This week, Comcast’s Black Employee Network (BEN) donated over 2,000 books to the Philadelphia nonprofit Tree House Books.

This initiative was organized by Ken Mitchell, an Installation & Service Supervisor at Comcast. According to Comcast, Ken was going to participate in the book drive himself, but then pitched it to the members of the BEN, who all agreed to join in.

Members of BEN set up boxes throughout Philadelphia and the surrounding suburbs for Comcast employees and the public to donate books. “It was amazing to see everyone get behind the cause and put their all into it,” Ken says. He hopes that this donation can replenish Tree House Books’ inventory so that they can continue to provide free books to children and families.
