Former Georgia RB Kendall Milton named 'training camp darling' by Eagles insider

The Philadelphia Eagles shocked the football world when they didn't draft a Georgia Bulldog in the 2024 NFL Draft, but that didn't stop them from adding one altogether.

Instead, they found a gem in undrafted free agent running back Kendall Milton .

Milton faces an uphill battle when it comes to making a roster spot with a crowded Eagles backfield, but he's still one training camp "darling" to keep an eye on next week due to his unique size, according to NBC Sports Dave Zangaro .

"Keep an eye on the UDFA from Georgia," writes Zangaro. "Milton is a big back, listed at 232 pounds and he might have the ability to use the truck stick in practice or in a preseason game. ...He’s not much of a threat to catch the ball out of the backfield but the Eagles have other guys who will do that. Milton is a little more unique."

Milton isn't the fastest, but he is the biggest back the Eagles have on their hands at 6-foot-2 and 225 pounds, which certainly benefits him as a reliable pass blocker.

And the good news for Milton is that he knows a thing or two about hard work from his time playing under Georgia head coach Kirby Smart and will bring some tough competition to the Eagles' training camp next week.

The two-time national champion comes with dual-threat abilities after logging 1,839 yards and 23 touchdowns on 297 carries, along with 116 yards and a touchdown in the air through 41 games at Georgia.

The Eagles seem to have plenty of faith in Milton after signing him to one of the highest undrafted free-agent deals .

Milton's UDFA deal with the Eagles includes a $25,000 signing bonus and a $225,000 guaranteed salary for $250,000 in total guarantees.

The other Eagles running backs that Milton will battler through training camp include Saquon Barkley , Kenneth Gainwell, Tyrion Davis-Price, Lew Nichols, and rookie Will Shipley.
