The Philadelphia Eagles feel like a team that could load up on defensive talent after the upcoming season.

Perhaps the biggest splash in that regard to assist coordinator Vic Fangio’s defense will come in the 2025 draft. Bleacher Report’s Brent Sobleski just provided an example of what this might look like by having the Eagles select Penn State pass-rusher Abdul Carter at No. 20 overall.

“The Eagles want to come at opposing quarterbacks in waves,” Sobleski wrote. “As of next offseason, Brandon Graham will be retired, while Josh Sweat and Zack Baun will be free agents.”

Over the last two years, Carter has tallied 11 sacks and nine passes defended with 16 tackles for loss. Add in some positional versatility and it is easy to see why a mind like Fangio would like to have another chess piece for the unit.

On paper, Carter could tandem with Nolan Smith Jr. and Bryce Huff (10 sacks with the Jets last season) to give the Eagles a deep, versatile rotation that can cause problems for offenses.
