Philadelphia police name 16-year-old who was shot execution-style in Oxford Circle

Philadelphia police are searching for three gunmen after a teenager was killed execution-style on Tuesday afternoon.

It happened around 4 p.m. in the 1200 block of Van Kirk Street in the city's Oxford Circle section.

Officers found the 16-year-old victim, identified as Jamil Wyatt, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds while lying on the ground behind a home on the block.

He was rushed to an area hospital where he later died.

According to police, Wyatt was walking through a rear driveway to a store when three gunmen began chasing him while firing multiple shots.

After Wyatt collapsed in the driveway, video reportedly shows at least two gunmen standing over him while shooting at him just a few feet away.

"So it appears to be an execution-type homicide since the shooters are seen on camera standing over the victim, and we also found multiple spent shell casings just inches away," said Chief Inspector Scott Small.

Police said more than 50 gunshots were fired.

The suspects were last seen fleeing in a white Nissan Sentra with light-tinted windows.
